What You Can Learn in Our Cosmetology Program

We’ve designed our curriculum to exceed the board requirements while preparing our students to sit for the state exam. We want to give you opportunities to develop the skills you need to succeed behind the chair.

With our unique training program, you’ll be able to access the digital curriculum while also getting experience in the salon and spa, working with real clients under the supervision of supportive instructors. You can use Aveda products and professional tools to help clients realize their beauty, inside and out.

The Aveda Cosmetology Curriculum

Our innovative 1600-hour cosmetology program was one of the first in the country to introduce learning on tablets. The Learn Aveda digital platform allows you to access the cosmetology curriculum on an iPad day and night, so you can study at times convenient for your busy schedule. You can then hone your craft on our busy clinic floor, where more than a thousand services are booked monthly with our students. You can grow in confidence and skill alongside expert educators who assist you each step of the way.

The Masterpiece Program, a copyrighted part of our curriculum, was developed exclusively for the Aveda Institute Las Vegas. We take an artistic approach to learning using five core elements:

Do you offer financial aid?

Great news! We offer financial aid to those who qualify. If you are interested in our cosmetology program, start your financial aid journey by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Once our team receives your information, we can sit down with you and help you build a financial plan for paying for your education. Many options are available, including grants, loans, scholarships, and more.

How long does it take to complete the cosmetology program?

You can complete our cosmetology training in as little as 54 weeks. Our cosmetology classes meet three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and we have multiple start dates throughout the year. Talk to our admissions team to learn more about upcoming dates.

How much is the cosmetology program?

Our cosmetology program is a total of $23,900, which includes:

Application Fee (non-refundable) $25
Enrollment Fee $150
Kit & Supplies Fee (non-refundable) $2,599
Tuition $21,126

What job placement support do you offer?

We cannot guarantee job placement, but we offer extensive support for job seekers in our cosmetology program. Along with career fairs, Aveda Institute Las Vegas students can access a bulletin board with names, addresses, and phone numbers of salons and spas in the area currently hiring. You’ll also find this information on the Learn Aveda platform. Our staff can assist in placement, such as helping you build a resume or assisting with interview prep. Students may also contact the Institute any time after graduating for employment assistance. We’re always happy to help!

How to Enroll in Our Cosmetology Program

Ready to take the first steps toward a career in beauty and wellness? Here’s how to start the admissions process:

Attend a career planning session. Schedule time with our team to view our facility and meet our team. After your tour, you’ll meet with a member of the admissions team who will help you develop a career plan and find the right program to suit your future goals.
Complete your application. After your tour, you can complete the admissions application and return it with all the necessary paperwork and a $25 nonrefundable application fee. Our admissions team will be available to answer any questions.
Build a financial plan as needed. If the cost of beauty school is a concern, our financial aid advisors can help you create a custom financial aid plan through grants, loans, scholarships, and payment plans. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
