Our Brand

The Aveda Institute Las Vegas isn’t just a beauty school. It’s a place where passion, creativity, and purpose come together.

Founded in 1978, Aveda is a global leader in the beauty and wellness industry, with salons, spas, and institutions in more than 40 countries. Aveda launched a brand focused on sustainability, using recycled materials, manufacturing products through renewable energy, and using 100% vegan, non-cruelty products. Our mission dates back to the ’70s when Aveda’s founder visited India and adopted a love for natural beauty.

Our Beauty School

With excellent passing rates from our graduates, we prepare you to sit for the state board licensure exam while teaching beyond state board requirements so you can succeed behind the chair. Part of your curriculum will be focused on:

Time management
Product knowledge (what we call “purescribing”)
Growing clientele

And other essential business and marketing techniques that will help you become successful once you graduate. We want to provide an education that results in well-rounded graduates prepared to succeed in the beauty industry.

Our Student Experience

We average between a thousand and 1,400 services a month! Located in Las Vegas, our student clinic stays busy—allowing our students the opportunity to hone their craft, practice exceptional guest service, and grow in confidence working on real people (with our expert educators assisting you).

Our students have opportunities to extend their education beyond the clinic floor with exciting events and add-on classes, including editorial photoshoots, runways, annual charity events, guest speakers, and more. These events can be excellent opportunities to practice your skills, build your lookbook, and network with professionals in the industry.

Our Curriculum

Our innovative courses were some of the first in the nation to introduce learning on tablets. With the entire curriculum built on iPads, you’ll be able to access your education 24/7 and serve diverse clientele on our clinic floor. We’re constantly adding the latest trends and techniques to our lesson plans so that you can stay up-to-date on what’s happening in the industry.

The Masterpiece Program, a copyrighted part of our curriculum, was developed exclusively for the Aveda Institute Las Vegas. We take an artistic approach to learning using five core elements:

It is designed to help you understand the best ways to address your clients’ overall wellness with techniques surpassing beauty basics.

We Embrace the Art of Teaching

We engage students through creative, activity-based learning. Our curriculum is designed to appeal to all learning styles, using a proven technique called 4MAT. It provides a common language for understanding how individuals move through the process of experiencing and integrating lessons and is suitable whether you are a hands-on learner or prefer to learn through observation. Our small student-to-instructor ratios mean our students get more one-on-one interactions with instructors, giving them more opportunities for personalized feedback that can help refine their skills.

What kind of hands-on experiences do students get?

Our busy clinic floor gives students opportunities to work with real clients under the supervision of experienced instructors. We average more than 1,000 services per month in the clinic, from facials to hair removal to hairstyling and nail care. Students may also have opportunities to participate in on-campus events such as runway shows, charity fundraisers, and photoshoots to help build their lookbook.

Our goal is to help students gain practical experience that builds their technical skills and teaches them to deliver exceptional client experiences.
