As a student of Aveda Institute Las Vegas you will be able to dive beyond the basics like facials, chemical peels, and skin diagnoses and learn the skills such as aromatherapy and botanical treatment that makes us truly Aveda.

In the state of Nevada there are certain skills and processes that you are required to learn prior to licensure. We are proud to be able to educate our students in these and help them to master these skills, and more.

Many of these skills include:

  • Cleansing of the skin
  • Care of the skin
  • Electrical stimulations of the skin
  • Makeup application
  • Massaging of the face and neck
  • Tinting of eyelashes and eyebrows
  • Waxing and other hair removal techniques

What is Required?

The path to esthetics licensure in Nevada is a simple process. Once you have found the right beauty school for you, you must follow the steps to enrollment and begin your education. In Nevada, an esthetics program is qualified as being 600 hours in length and lasting an estimated 5 months depending on if you are full time or part time.

Once you have completed your hours and worked the appropriate number of clinic hours, you are qualified to apply for licensure.

In Nevada, you are required to take a practical exam to showcase your skills and demonstrate your knowledge. Once you have passed that exam you may then schedule your theory and Nevada State Law Exam. All three of these tests must be passed before you can file your application for licensure, which can be done through the Nevada website portal.
